Amalgam is a structural component of dental fillings.

This can be an acute poisoning, for example, if new amalgam fillings have been placed or old fillings have recently been removed, and it usually manifests as unexplained nausea, diarrhea, or headaches.

It can also be a chronic intoxication, because dental fillings release mercury slowly and barely noticeable, causing harm to the body. Almost any symptoms are possible, from allergies to immunodeficiency and gingivitis.

Many unexplained chronic diseases disappear on their own after professional removal of amalgam fillings and detoxification. Why some people have problems and others do not have problems with amalgam is still not fully understood.
