A heel spur is a spiky, ossified protrusion on the heel bone that can become inflamed due to irritation, causing pain. Heel spurs form as a result of microtrauma to the tissue (caused by excessive strain) where the muscle tendons attach to the heel bone. Schuessler salts are taken to combat inflammation and relieve pain. Typical symptoms of a heel spur include heel pain, pain in the Achilles tendon, and redness and swelling of the skin.
